Rejuvenate and build immunity with this delicious nut milk made with two of the most exquisite ingredients…roses and saffron.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup almonds
- 3 cups filtered water for soaking
- 1 ½ tsp mineral salt for soaking the almonds
- 4 cups (1 quart) additional water
- 2 pitted dates
- 1 Tbsp rose water or 1-2 tbsp of organic red/pin rose petals
- a few threads of saffron
- pinch of mineral salt
Prep: You’ll need 2 1 quart glass jars. Soak 1 cup of raw almonds in 3 cups of filtered and salt overnight. In the second jar, put the rest of the ingredients to soak together. Stir or shake and let sit.
When you are ready to make the Ojas Rose Milk, drain the nuts, discarding the soaking water. Place the soaked almonds plus the ingredients from the second jar in a blender. Blend as smooth as possible. Using a nut milk bag (best for a smooth consistency) or other fine mesh strainer, press the mixture through into a large pot or bowl. You can blend the pulp with some of the freshly strained almond milk again to get more milk out of the pulp. Store in a glass or stainless steel jar in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
