I’m always looking for nourishing and grounding drinks, and recently I stumbled upon an old recipe I had so I decided to share it here in my blog because it’s such calming alternative to caffeinated drinks such as coffee.
2 cups spring or filtered water
2 Tbsp freshly grated ginger root
3 cinnamon sticks
1 Tbsp whole cloves
1 Tbsp cardamom pods
¼ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
2 cups organic milk of choice (I prefer Oat milk)
3 Tbsp organic loose leaf decaffeinated black tea
Boil water, add all the spices above and simmer for 10 minutes. Add your milk and tea, and continue simmering until it’s all heated then remove from heat. Stir, cover and steep for another 5 minutes.
Strain and enjoy (makes 4 cups).
