Do you suffer with jaw tension, headaches, or sinus issues…try this old Ayurvedic technique

I’m sure you’ve heard of the numerous benefits of oil pulling but did you know that it can help alleviate jaw pain caused by tension, and can help with headaches and sinus problems as well? This ancient Ayurvedic technique has been done for thousands of years and the theory behind it is that it pulls out toxins and bacteria which in turn helps to clean out the sinuses and the rest of the body. In fact, you can read all about it in Dr Bruce Fife’s website (he’s even written a book on oil pulling): http://www.coconutresearchcenter.org/article%20oil%20pulling.htm
So how do you begin? Below are instructions on how to oil pull (it’s really EASY)- start making it a daily habit, like brushing your teeth and let me know how it worked for you!
You can use coconut oil or sesame oil.
- Drink one cup of water on an empty stomach
- melt 1-3 tsp of oil in your mouth
- Swish the oil for 1-5 minutes
- Spit the oil in the trash (to avoid it hardening & cloggin up your pipes)
- Rinse your mouth with some water & sea salt
- Brush your teeth
Oil pulling should be done on an empty stomach to ensure maximum benefits. The best times are upon rising. If you are doing both oil pulling and tongue scraping, I suggest you start with the tongue scraping first.
If you’re looking to upgrade your oil pulling oil, I recommend the one that I have formulated and contains herbs that target keeping your mouth healthy. You can check out the details on my apothecary site.
