I’m on such a coffee kick these days. I only have one cup a day, but it has to be THE best, and it has to be powerful, smart, delicious….AND it must be powerful….improve my mental stamina, and give me tons of energy!
I’ve been experimenting with different milk alternatives as dairy bloats me….(I just don’t have the digestive enzymes for the dairy), and my favorite so far is oat milk. I absolutely love it, although any non-dairy milk will work just fine! If you have the opportunity to order a cappuccino with oat milk, though, don’t hesitate – it’s creamy and tastes amazing.
I’ve been experimenting with several recipes lately in order to help improve my brain power & stamina. I also wanted to see what else I could add in my coffee that would taste delicious, but also give me some additional benefits besides energy.
I came up with a recipe that I’m sharing with you in this blog. It not only improves my energy, but the maca and ashwagandha help to calm my nervous system and improve my hormone function – added bonus – the taste is sinfully delicious!
It only takes a few extra minutes to make, but you’ll feel the power from these ingredients all day. I’ve also shared my favorite brands and their websites (just click on the ingredient and it will take you to the particular site).
- 1 cup of your favorite organic, low acid coffee – freshly brewed
- ¼ cup – ⅓ cup oat milk – steamed or warmed
- ½ tsp ashwagandha
- ½ tsp organic maca powder
- 1 tsp (or up to 1 tbsp) 4th & heart ghee
- Add your choice of sweetener such as raw honey or coconut palm sugar (optional)
Combine all ingredients in your blender for a minute or two, or use an immersion blender. Pour into your favorite coffee mug and enjoy your delicious, healthy, and super smart cup of joe!
This sounds delicious and I’m going to have to try it. I’ve grown tired of my regular cup of coffee with a little sugar and half and half. I’ve never tried oat milk, I will have to try and find some. Recently, I had a tumeric latte. It did have other ingredients in it, can’t remember what now, but it was absolutely delightful. I’ll try to find what else they had and share, it would probably contribute to a good cup of coffee too!
Yes, please share the ingredients! I just had an amazing cup of coffee with rose water, coconut butter, and cashew milk – it tasted rich and delicious, yet still had the coffee taste in it as well. Love how adventurous we can be and how even a regular cup of coffee can turn into something out of this world!
