I’ve always wanted to live an extraordinary life.
I never saw myself as ordinary, in fact, I have always known I wanted to be different. But I conformed, I tried to be the good daughter, mother, wife, etc, and well, I was, or so they tell me.
But the desire was always burning….to experience life to its fullest. I love creativity, beauty, and to learn. So I would break out when I could. When I divorced my first husband, I went to Officer Candidate School, and became a U.S. Naval Officer so I could travel the world. I was one of a handful of female Intelligence Officers at the time…..I couldn’t just be ANY type of Officer!
I never wanted to be sitting behind a desk, living what I consider, the ‘ordinary life’…that would totally bore me. Yet, there are things that I do everyday that others would consider boring and mundane.
I practice Ashtanga yoga EVERYDAY, except for Moon days, and Saturdays. I practice everyday, no matter what. I practice Pranayama, everyday, no matter what. I move my body everyday!
I oil my body, snort oil, skin brush, drink a raw green juice everyday, and NEVER watch TV. I skip breakfast everyday and I eat dinner before 6:30.
I call my mother everyday when she’s not here, and I text with my sons everyday. I am REALLY disciplined with my routine.
At the same time, I love to be creative with my work, with how I coach, with the mentors and coaches I hire, and with the places I travel to.
On the outside looking in, it might seem like I live a really fast paced life. Yes, every minute of my day is accounted for, and it’s NEVER boring. I love surrounding myself with extraordinary people who have amazing stories and are living extraordinary lives….I will do whatever it takes to be with them, to see them. I never tire of experiencing new things, people and places….but I’m also in bed by 10pm every night.
I allow myself the freedom to create and experience things that I desire, but I also hold myself to strict daily routines.
